Thames Quarter




Thames Quarter, located in the heart of Reading is a high specification build-to-rent scheme by M&G Real Estate. Overlooking the Thames, this purpose-designed development includes 315 apartments and 10,000 sq ft. of first-class facilities including a roof garden, cinema, large resident’s lounge and gym. Working closely with M&G, the motive8 design team provided consultancy services on the design of the gym including the layout and facilities. The consultancy phase included a full evaluation of the internal environment to ensure the gym space being created suited the needs of all new residents. 3D concepts were created to help the client visualise the final layout and plan the equipment. Once the design and layout of the space was approved, we worked with leading equipment manufacturers to install a full range of fitness equipment. The new gym features a range of the latest Technogym cardio equipment and Erimus strength equipment, motive8’s own brand of weights, dumbbells and kettlebells. Leading digital fitness software ‘Wexer virtual studio’ was also installed, offering gym users a huge range of online fitness and HIIT classes. motive8 were also retained to maintain the gym facility and deliver inductions to all new residents to ensure that the equipment is used correctly and safety standards are met. Bespoke group exercise glasses were also created for Thames Quarter residents and delivered by motive8’s trained fitness experts. The finished gym at Thames Quarter delivers on all counts and offers residents a fully functional space to work out and enjoy their fitness lifestyle all within one space.
