CoStays Partners with the UKAA as Gold Sponsor

CoStays – the specialist property and hospitality management company serving the build to- rent and co-living sector – has become a gold sponsor of the UKAA, ensuring that the short-term rental and extended stays sectors play an active role in shaping the future of rental communities, by bridging the gap between hotel, home and work.

CoStays is part of The SDDE Smith Group, which has since 2017 built a portfolio of more than £150 million of short-let assets under management across the North of England, with a £25 million annual turnover. As members and gold sponsors of the UKAA they will provide expert advice and deliver bespoke offerings that apply a hospitality approach to property management.

CoStays’ sister company Host & Stay have specialised in short-term lets since 2017, recording a verified five-star rating from more than 20,000 guests through Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO and TripAdvisor. As members of the UKAA, they’re able to bring all that experience and expertise with them to help further develop the build to rent sector.

The UKAA’s forums provide the perfect opportunity for CoStays to learn from asset owners, managers and developers about the challenges of diversifying real estate portfolios by operating short-term rentals and increasing net operating income within purpose-built accommodation. CoStays, as experts in short-let management, can advise fellow UKAA members on considerations to take into account, and relevant solutions that can help the industry meet consumer demand, whilst also unlocking the full lifecycle value of real estate assets and providing excellent returns on investment for all stakeholders involved.

Qassim Ali, Co-founder & Managing Director, CoStays said:

“We are extremely excited to be members and gold sponsors of the UKAA as we believe by opening up real estate assets to a wider market, we can help unlock the full lifecycle value of build to rent developments and solve major inefficiencies during the lease up phase of a development. We’re able to advise the build to rent, co-living and purpose built student accommodation sectors on how to strategically run short-term rentals at scale. By partnering with asset owners, managers and developers, we’re extremely confident that wasted space and vacant apartments will become a thing of the past. We are revolutionising the short-term rental market to meet consumer demand for aparthotels and purpose built accommodation that provides stylish spaces in which to stay, live, work and play. We curate stylish living and work spaces within local rental communities to offer the comfort, space and privacy of a home with the flexibility, amenities and hospitality of a boutique hotel. It’s something we at CoStays like to call “Hospitality Living”, and we believe this is the future of the rental economy.”

Dale Smith, CEO, The SDDE Smith Group said:

“We have experienced exponential growth at The SDDE Smith Group during the recent pandemic, and we are confident that this growth will continue as the short-term rental sector continues to broaden and converge with purpose built accommodation sectors such as build-to-rent, co-living, and PBSA. We are delighted to be UKAA members, and as experts within the short-term rentals sector, we are keen to help further develop best practice short-term let property management amongst our members, and to create outstanding tenant and guest experiences in the thriving hospitality living sector.”

Dave Butler, CEO, UKAA comments:

“We welcome CoStays as members and gold sponsors to the UKAA family. The short-term rental and extended stays markets present real opportunities for those within build to rent and I look forward to CoStays sharing their knowledge and experience with the  sector.”
