Thursday 13th February for The UKAA Expo 2020
52 Upper Street, London, N1 0QH
10am - 5pm
Standing on the stairs at the end of Expo, looking down at the exhibitions being broken down, it was hard not to feel a bit emotional – another tremendous day, showing all the things that make working in Build To Rent so rewarding.
Growth: Bigger and better than ever, more exhibitors, and more companies taking part in the reverse trade show - a real USP again - and it certainly felt like more business was being done with more of the right visitors.
A great atmosphere: A real buzz throughout the day, great conversations going on across the hall in the Furniture Practice lounge (and on the sofas provided by BoConcept and Base Furnishings). The food and drinks from Pretty Bean Coffee Co, Lets Do Temaki and Hush Hush Chefs went done exceptionally well. Special mentions to the Yorkshire beer from Regal Blinds and the David Phillips coffee bar.
Things to learn: All of the sessions were excellent and some challenging topics (all the slides are here):
MMC – an End to End risk review – NHBC
Safer and Stronger Communities – the role you play – Walker Morris / Surviving Economic Abuse
Fire Risk and Building Management – NHBC
The Future of Community Engagement – Built ID
Our membership tools – BlueInk esigning software, Unissu Proptech procurement and the smart Member database from Built-ID.
Opportunities to improve: Apologies for making the names on the badges so small (did anyone use the QR codes) and to anyone who had to queue to get their stands away from the BDC – the message has been passed on. Also we need to make sure that everyone who registered actually turns up - hopefully this will help them see what they missed.
We really hope you enjoyed a profitable and stimulating day – tell us how it was for you here. If you would like to exhibit at the UKAA conference on 17th November and / or the 2021 Expo – sign up here.
Thank you for joining us and thanks to our sponsors Bo Concept, Mint Commercial Interiors, The Furniture Practice and Greystar, to our exhibitors, our reverse trade show hosts, our speakers and everyone who worked so hard to make the Expo happen.
