Alex Notay, PfP Capital – Alexandra Notay is Placemaking and Investment Director at PfP Capital, the fund and asset management arm of Places for People Group, overseeing a UK-wide residential strategy. She is an internationally recognised expert on build to rent, placemaking and sustainable urban development, with 17 years’ strategic advisory and investment experience to private sector, government and third sector organisations across four continents. In January 2019 Alex was selected as one of the 48 women shaping the future of UK real estate at the prestigious BISNOW Women Leaders event. Alex is a published author and editor of over 30 books and reports on real estate including the renowned ULI UK Best Practice Guide on Build to Rent (2014, 2016). Alex is vice-chair of the ULI UK Residential Council, chair of the BPF working group on residential ESG, serves on BPF’s Build to Rent Committee, AREF’s ESG / Impact Investing committee and is a Member of CREFC Europe. She is also a non-executive director of Essensys plc, Co-Chair of the Creative Land Trust, Commissioner on the UK Geospatial Commission, SouthWest Board Member for LandAid and trustee of the SunScreenIT Foundation. With a reputation for being ‘abnormally energetic’, Alex is passionate about enabling tangible social impact through innovation and collaboration as well as mentoring the next generation of diverse talent.

 

James Simondson, British Property Foundation – James Simondson is an Assistant Director of Policy at the British Property Federation and leads on residential policy, including Build to Rent. James has a career background in the civil service in Australia, working in urban planning policy in one of the world’s most liveable cities, Melbourne. As part of James’ role at the BPF he has coordinated the ‘Who Lives in Build to Rent?’ research projects, bringing together BPF, Dataloft, London First and UKAA to help build understanding of Build to Rent with key stakeholders in government and local authorities.

 

Rachael Sherratt, JLL – Rachael Sherratt is a Director across the Net Zero Consulting and Project Management teams at global real estate consultancy JLL. Currently leading on the delivery of a number of mixed-use, highly sustainable schemes including the Finzels Reach development quarter in Bristol which will house the highest-rated BREEAM Outstanding office scheme outside of London along with the first build to rent in the city, Rachael also advises a number of large investors on tangible methods for achieving net zero across their portfolios in the UK, notably at The Crown Estate. With a background as a Chartered Architect, Rachael has worked on award-winning schemes in both rural and urban locations across the UK. Rachael is also a judge on a number of regional property award programmes, is a trained mentor and was 2020/2021 Chair of Women in Property South-West
