Representatives from BRE’s BREEAM Certification scheme discuss the advantages of how consistent, granular data capture and data insights from assets portfolios can work for the owner to demonstrate compliance with international policy goals, improve asset performance, and ultimately their impact on the planet.
Dr Shamir Ghumra – Head of Building Performance Services, BRE
Dr. Shamir Ghumra leads the global BREEAM portfolio of sustainability standards which has been driving global improvements in buildings and infrastructure for over three decades. Shamir is an experienced ESG and sustainability leader with a strong belief in empowering others for commercial success. In his current role leading the Building Performance Services Division at BRE, Shamir supports the BRE mission “to be the world-leading innovation, science and data hub for the built environment.” Shamir is a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, a Chartered Environmentalist and a Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering at Loughborough University in the UK.
David Ede – Senior Change Manager, BRE
BREAs Senior Change Manager for BRE, David Ede leads change through delivering science-led solutions to challenges in the built environment. David is an expert in business change and programme management across the public and private sectors, delivering transformational change which enables execution of business goals and strategies, and also delivers front-line operational improvements. His first involvement in the sustainability arena saw him deliver a portfolio of net zero carbon projects for a market leader in the power industry.
Dan Asquith – Business Development Manager, BRE
Dan Asquith is a Business Development Professional with experience spanning Construction, Real Estate & Sustainability, before joining the dots at BRE. Prior to BRE, Dan worked for a European Co-Living Brand and a Sustainability Consultancy so understands the importance of ESG throughout the industry from the Real Estate Investor to the End User. He aims to use his exposure working in the UK & Europe to help clients develop net zero strategies for existing portfolios using BRE’s Frameworks.
