Masterclass in Service Design with Professor Clive Grinyer RCA

Service design has emerged as one of the hottest areas for both commerce and society in taking a human centred, system thinking perspective and designing beyond products and buildings to deliver the full lived experience. Clive will explain the key principles of service design with some examples from his students at the Royal College of Art and provide some practical and possibly life changing tips and techniques to think like a service designer.

Clive Grinyer is Head of Service Design at the Royal College of Art. For over 3 decades he has led innovation teams designing human centred solutions for companies including Samsung, Cisco and Barclays. In 2018 Creative review placed Clive in their Top 50 and described Clive as “a passionate advocate for the transformational potential of design for some three decades. Today’s focus on the value of digital product design and on design’s value in leading customer experience in the UK is, in large part, due to his work.”
