Motive8 – The Forge

Situated in the heart of London E6, The Forge comprises 192 new BRT residential apartments clustered around green spaces of communal courtyards. These high spec apartments include a fully-equipped onsite gym, which is available free of charge for residents to use 24/7 as well as a rooftop terrace and exclusive Residents’ Lounge. Our brief was to build a ground floor gym in a residential BTS new build. motive8 designed, supplied equipment and installed the gym and provides maintenance checks and inductions to residents. Working with design partner BDW Interior, metal panels, exposed brick work and services were used to create an industrial style space. Mainly Technogym and Erimus equipment was used, supported by a selection of Escape and Octane products. The flooring and mirrors were supplied by us, too.

Motive8 – Thames Quarter

Thames Quarter, located in the heart of Reading is a high specification build-to-rent scheme by M&G Real Estate. Overlooking the Thames, this purpose-designed development includes 315 apartments and 10,000 sq ft. of first-class facilities including a roof garden, cinema, large resident’s lounge and gym. Working closely with M&G, the motive8 design team provided consultancy services on the design of the gym including the layout and facilities. The consultancy phase included a full evaluation of the internal environment to ensure the gym space being created suited the needs of all new residents. 3D concepts were created to help the client visualise the final layout and plan the equipment. Once the design and layout of the space was approved, we worked with leading equipment manufacturers to install a full range of fitness equipment. The new gym features a range of the latest Technogym cardio equipment and Erimus strength equipment, motive8’s own brand of weights, dumbbells and kettlebells. Leading digital fitness software ‘Wexer virtual studio’ was also installed, offering gym users a huge range of online fitness and HIIT classes. motive8 were also retained to maintain the gym facility and deliver inductions to all new residents to ensure that the equipment is used correctly and safety standards are met. Bespoke group exercise glasses were also created for Thames Quarter residents and delivered by motive8’s trained fitness experts. The finished gym at Thames Quarter delivers on all counts and offers residents a fully functional space to work out and enjoy their fitness lifestyle all within one space.

Motive8 – Blackhorse Mills

Blackhorse Mills is a unique waterside destination overlooking the wilds of Walthamstow Wetlands. This unique rental development offers 450 studio flats and 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments. From flexible contracts to pet-friendly apartments plus a large gym, studio and outdoor pool, there really is something for everyone. As part of this new development, motive8 was brought on board by Legal & General to provide consultancy services across all areas of the leisure facility including full design of the gym. Once the plans and fitness equipment requirements were finalised, motive8 were retained to install all the equipment for both the gym and studio. The gym features a full range of Technogym cardio and resistance equipment, alongside best of breed cross trainers, air bikes and rowing machines. A defined free weights area includes a wide range of dumbbells and other strength equipment, such as half racks, smith machines, adjustable benches and cable machines. A full-size Omnia 8 functional rig was also installed, allowing for individual or group training sessions. The adjacent studio has been fitted out with a variety of different studio items to allow residents to undertake a blend of different training options. A virtual studio system was also installed to enable on demand classes to take place without an instructor. Hygiene wipe stations were also provided to assist residents in keeping the equipment clean post workout. motive8 has been retained to provide full management services including a suite of fitness services along with the maintenance of the gym equipment and swimming pool to keep it in good working order for its users. The finished facility benefits from lots of natural light and wall to wall mirrors, making the space look light, airy and welcoming.

Parcel Pending by Quadient – The Keel, Allsop

Gated development The Keel, professionally let and managed by Allsop, provides modern rental accommodation through 240 apartments overlooking the River Mersey in Liverpool. With the increasing popularity of online shopping, The Keel was experiencing an influx of parcels delivered daily for residents. Staff logged each parcel individually, labelling and storing them until residents were able to collect. As volumes increased, more staff time was taken up handling incoming deliveries. The challenge was to manage a rising volume of parcel deliveries, meeting residents' needs for convenience and security while reducing staff time spent on parcel management. In 2020, Allsop installed Parcel Pending lockers at The Keel to provide convenient and secure parcel delivery management for the benefit of both residents and staff.
