Q1 2021 launch for UKAA BTR Public Relations steering group
The initiative was discussed during the ‘Meet the Press’ panel, at the UKAA’s Festival of BtR, chaired by Moda Living’s Lucy Sharp alongside Carol Lewis the Deputy Property Editor at The Times, ’Property Journalist of the Year’ Graham Norwood, Harriet Pask from Quintain, and Caroline Coskry from Oracle PR.
The panel, still available to view HERE, explored how the sector is currently perceived in the British media, how BTR can better promote itself, as well as the best approach for growth, collaboration, and managing crises.
The event has inspired the formation of a collaborative BTR industry PR committee which we formally announce today. This will include building and executing a strategy that positions the UKAA as the ‘go-to commentator’ for the UK’s BTR sector, in its role as the trusted industry body for the space.
Lucy, who will chair the committee, is appealing for senior PR’s within the BTR sector to work more closely with one another to enhance how the BTR industry is viewed by investors, policymakers, customers, and peers.
Lucy Sharp, Head of Corporate PR at Moda Living:
“By sharing knowledge & raising standards as PR professionals, we can build the profile & reputation of the Sector collectively, as well as offering a voice to smaller businesses driving the sector forward.
We encourage PR leads in every area within BTR including investors, operators, developers, architects, contractors, agents, lawyers, regulators & suppliers to let us know now that they want to support our movement. Next steps will be shared in the New year.”
