News Buzz 19/10/21 Rental living: driving value in effective community management

October 19th 2021

YOUR BTR NEWS BUZZ

EDITORS NOTE

Feedback from Greystar’s 2020 US Design Survey, shone a light on how property companies could optimise their operations with design that meets post-pandemic requirements. With many residents working from home, the expectation and requirements of a rental apartment in terms of both design and service have evolved. Residents require high speed wifi and well-equipped communal areas suitable for home working. Services such as on-site post management, package lockers, maintenance & repairs and isolation support are highly valued as is, of course, plenty of outdoor space.

A highlight has been placed on the requirement for experienced operational platforms that drive value. At Greystar, we provide a Gold Standard across all resident touchpoints,  ensuring communities are managed effectively and in a way that allows our customers to thrive. A formula that is so successful, we signed 66 leases at our new Croydon residence Ten Degrees in September.

We are seeing an opportunity to grow our third party management platform across the UK and Europe, with a focus on well-designed spaces and excellent customer service. To find out more, contact us here.

Best Wishes,

Todd Marler, Senior Director, Multifamily Operations, Greystar Europe

DMR Research Reminder
With James Pargeter (Global Apartment Advisors) and Chris Wheaton (Quod), we are undertaking a survey of UKAA and BPF members with occupied BTR communities under management, to gather information on the nature of affordable housing that has been an obligation of their planning consents to-date. Through this we hope to further understanding of the range of members’ experiences across different local planning authorities and to define best practice.

A number of members have been contacted directly with a request to participate and we would urge members to respond by 22nd October 2021. If you have not been contacted and feel that you could contribute, please email us:

UKAA Webinar – How has the pandemic impacted the future of apartment living? By Quadient

The pandemic changed the way people live, work and shop. Some changes are likely to stick and have a lasting impact on the choices Build to Rent (BTR) residents make. For owner-operators of BTR apartments, this raises the question of how future accommodation will meet residents’ needs.

In this webinar, a panel of industry experts discuss the four key impacts the pandemic could have on future apartment living, and what that means for residents, developers and building management.

WELCOME TO NEW MEMBERS

f.r.a.
f.r.a. is a team of designers collaborating with architects, developers and planners to unlock the full potential of the built environment. Wayfinding, brand, placemaking—our work can be described in many different ways. We’re not too concerned about the labels. What matters is finding ways to use design to add value to a project and elevate experience.

The ideas of ‘thinking’, ‘feeling’, ‘doing’ are at the core of our approach and are present at every step of our process. We drive design through innovation and solid technical skills. We celebrate and enhance the emotional connections between people and place. Above all, we are grafters. We are a team of doers at every level. This means we face the tough facts of how a project really happens. We support our stakeholders and help them through every step of the project.
