The UKAA stands with Ukraine

Like everyone else, we at the UKAA have been horrified by what we is happening in Ukraine since the Russian invasion and trying to understand the implications for the sector and how best we can help the victims of this war.  Last week we brought together  industry leaders at a Senior Leaders’ Forum for a briefing from expert members including BCLP, Osborne Clarke and Amber Energy and to consider:

1. How the war in Ukraine affects the UK Build to Rent Industry.
2. How best can we act as a sector to support the victims of this war and help our residents to do so too?

It seems obvious that as the number of refugees reaching the UK increases there will a need and opportunities for the sector to provide practical assistance in terms of accommodation, infrastructure and expertise. However what also became obvious at the Forum was that at the moment the impact on the sector and the demand for and opportunities for the sector to help are still  unclear.

Accordingly we believe that at the moment the best way that the UKAA can help is to act on our core objective of sharing knowledge.

We will continue to bring members together in Forums and elsewhere. We will gather and share information about what is needed, the resources available and how to access them. We will help publicise those organisations who are assisting and  we  will identify and share advice and guidance for members and where relevant our residents, based on the expertise of our members and others.

Please contact us on ukrainecrisis@ukaa.org.uk if you have knowledge or resources that you wish to share or find out about. We will be launching a page on the UKAA website shortly.
